Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI examinations on the Siemens Espree 1.5T large bore system, including neuro, spine, MSK, body and pelvis protocols; apply post-processing as needed.
- Implement advanced MRI sequences (MRA/MRV, diffusion, T1/T2, gradient/echo techniques) and adjust protocols to optimize image quality and diagnostic value.
- Prepare and administer IV contrast, monitor patients during contrast administration, and utilize BRACCO injector as required.
- Screens patients for contraindications, obtain patient history, position and immobilize patients, and ensure safety and comfort throughout the exam.
- Maintain equipment readiness, perform routine quality checks, and coordinate with PT, Respiratory, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, Transport and Unit Secretary as needed.
- Document procedures and findings in the electronic charting system (EPIC), ensuring accurate and complete patient records; participate in unit-wide communication and handoffs.
- Floating to related imaging or radiology areas as needed to support workflow and patient care.
Requirements
- NY license in hand to submit
- BLS certification
- Minimum experience: 2 years of MRI technologist experience (posting notes 1 year minimum in another section—confirm with recruiter)
- EPIC charting experience is a hard submission requirement
- First-time traveler accepted with significant MRI experience; travel experience not required
- Experience with Siemens Espree 1.5T large bore MRI and BRACCO injector is preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital MRI suite and to float to related units as needed
- Distance policy: Please confirm the distance requirements with the recruiter prior to submittal due to posted local restrictions
- Return-to-work (RTO) policy: Candidates with more than 10 days of RTO cannot be submitted; confirm with recruiter
