Travel Radiation Therapist - $2,805 per week

About the role

Under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, provides radiation therapy procedures including assisting in examinations and operation of therapeutic equipment. Delivers prescribed doses of external beam and radioactive elements. The role involves working across all areas of the radiation oncology department, with potential responsibilities in operating rooms or nursing units for radioactive implants.

Start date: 11/16/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Employment type: Travel. Shift: 8 hours, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Accurately deliver prescribed radiation therapy as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Perform clinical simulations on treatment machines and CT simulators.
• Fabricate patient immobilization devices such as molds and blocks.
• Maintain electronic medical records of daily treatments, including dose totals and treatment aids.
• Explain procedures to patients, manage treatment comfort, and notify medical staff of any complications.
• Interact regularly with oncology patients, their families, and departmental staff.
• Float rotation may be required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of formal radiation therapy training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved program
• South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiation Therapist certification
• ARRT Radiation Therapy certification
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• At least one year of relevant radiation therapy experience

Skills

• Knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and safety
• Proficiency in dose calculations and equipment operation
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks

Schedule

Rotating shifts, typically Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
