Travel Radiation Therapist - $2,685 per week
Radiation Therapist position in Lubbock, Texas. This role involves providing radiation therapy services within a pediatric trauma center and specialized treatment modalities, including brachytherapy, external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT). The position offers a dynamic environment with diverse treatment options and interdisciplinary support, suitable for experienced professionals committed to delivering quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide radiation therapy services in a pediatric trauma center
- Administer specialized treatment modalities: brachytherapy, EBRT, SRS, and FSRT
- Assist with intracavity/interstitial administration
- Care for patients in restraints
- Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging and chart checking
- Conduct CT simulation and create custom molds
- Deliver electron beam therapy and manage electron fields
- Operate Elekta Infinity and Versa HD equipment, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, and GE imaging systems
- Use HexaPOD, IMRT, and lift/transfer devices
- Provide patient and family teaching
- Deliver pediatric and adult outpatient care
- Ensure radiation safety
- Float between units and rotate across treatment modalities and equipment
- Work 3 of the 5 specified holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Flexibility to float between neighboring facilities as required
Requirements
- Valid Texas state license
- At least 1 year of radiation therapy experience
- ARRT registered (R)
- BLS certification
- Proficiency with teaching hospital experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a pediatric hospital setting
- Familiarity with Elekta Mosaiq Record and Verify System and Epic electronic medical record
Additional Information
- Must include responses to prior work at Providence facilities
- Submit two references covering the past 1 year
- Communication devices provided by employer if needed
- Refusal to float may result in contract termination
Schedule
- 13 weeks duration
- 40 hours per week
- 8-hour shifts, days
- Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm
- Friday: 8am-3pm
