Travel Psych ED RN - $2,000 per week

About the role

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Psych ED for a travel nursing assignment in Durham, North Carolina. The role is for a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) working in a Psychiatric Emergency Department setting.

Responsibilities

• Assess the mental health status of patients with behavioral challenges.
• Collaborate with medical providers and mental health staff in the design and delivery of patient care.
• Administer and monitor effectiveness and side‑effects of psychotropic medications.
• Assist patients, and families as appropriate, to interpret and manage maladaptive behaviors and to plan healthy lifestyle changes.
• Exercise balanced judgement in evaluation situations and making decisions to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a professional manner.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• BLS Certification
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Psychiatric setting
• Other requirements to be determined by the client facility
