Travel Progressive Care Unit RN - $2,290 per week

Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available at a healthcare organization located in Puyallup, Washington. This role involves supporting a fast-paced, multi-diagnosis unit primarily working on Night shifts. The RN will provide specialized care to a diverse patient population, including respiratory compromise, sepsis, renal failure, and post-operative recovery, with responsibilities across various inpatient units, including the Emergency Department Holding area and transport roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to a diverse patient population including respiratory compromise, sepsis, renal failure, and post-operative recovery
• Work across various inpatient units, including the Emergency Department Holding area
• Transport patients throughout the hospital including inpatient units, imaging, and procedure areas
• Support unit staff during slower periods with flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Handle complex clinical situations with good communication skills

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN licensure
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• At least 1 year of ICU or PCU experience
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to complete and pass telemetry competency prior to start
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience
• Ventilator management experience
• Invasive line management experience
• Experience with charting systems such as EPIC and Pyxis

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with chest tubes
• Experience with lumbar drains
• IV medication titration (e.g., Amiodarone, dopamine, insulin)
• General patient education skills

Schedule

• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Duration: 14 weeks
• Start Date: 08/24/2026
• Orientation: Two days of hospital orientation, including login access, modules, and other hospital policies, plus one day on the assigned unit. Additional orientation hours provided for floating to other units.
