Travel Progressive Care Unit RN - $2,205 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Charlottesville, Virginia. The assignment starts 11/16/2026, lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts. Employment type is travel. TotalMed is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency that places nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and other clinicians nationwide, focusing on putting highly‑skilled staff into facilities to ensure adequate staffing and better patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients; interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
