Travel Progressive Care Unit RN - $1,955 per week

About the role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Charleston, West Virginia. The RN will deliver high-quality nursing care by following individualized care plans, supervising ancillary staff, and ensuring patient safety and comfort within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission and create an individualized plan of care.
• Provide patient information and status updates for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care using the nursing process, with a focus on patient and family education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient teaching to prepare for discharge.
• Communicate all pertinent changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and seek support from senior nursing staff for complex clinical decision-making.
• Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of care.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital and nursing policies.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and clinical training needs.
• Assume charge responsibility following orientation, as requested.
• Engage in continuous professional development through ongoing education and self-study.
• Prioritize activities and plan effectively to meet patient needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Float rotation may be required.

Requirements

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum two (2) years bedside clinical experience.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts.
• Minimum of 36 hours per week.
