Travel Pre/Post PACU RN - $2,014 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN for an immediate travel nursing opening in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a 13-week travel nursing position with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation and care for post-op patients as they recover from surgical anesthesia
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during the critical care step between surgery and recovery
• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Good skills for coping with stress and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
