About the role
A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) registered nurse position is available in the Minneapolis area. This role involves providing family-centered nursing care for infants, children, and adolescents in a pediatric critical care environment. The position requires the ability to float between designated hospitals as needed, supporting the healthcare provider's mission to deliver exceptional patient care.
Schedule
- Night shifts, 12-hour shifts
- Minimum of 48 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for pre-operative and immediate post-operative PICU surgical patients
- Care for trauma patients or pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) patients, including pre-operative, immediate post-operative cardiac surgical patients, and pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients
- Float between two hospital locations in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area as required
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license or Minnesota Temporary Permit-RN
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- 18 months of PICU nursing experience, including experience in one of the following:
- Pre-operative and immediate post-operative PICU surgical or trauma patients, or
- Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nursing with competency in pre-operative, immediate post-operative cardiac surgical, and pre- and post-cardiac procedural patients
Additional Information
The selected candidate must be available to start as soon as possible, with orientation sessions scheduled on 8/10 and potentially 8/24 (pending approval).
