About the role

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a hospital setting. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Pediatric ICU. The position is available for a full-time schedule, with shifts primarily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and requires delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic teaching hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients
• Perform procedures including intravenous starts, blood draws, and TPT placements
• Utilize Meditech / CPN electronic medical records system
• Operate general critical care monitoring equipment
• Work effectively in a teaching hospital environment under pressure

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital pediatric intensive care unit experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Critical care Registered Nurse (CRRT) experience
• Pediatric Advanced Nursing (APHON) certification
• Pediatric teaching hospital experience

The unit is a Level II Trauma Pediatric ICU with 15 beds, staffed by 38 healthcare professionals, including intensivists and nurses. Focus on patient safety and quality outcomes.

Schedule

• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
