About the role
Travel Physical Therapy Assistant supporting inpatient care in a Level IV Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapy services to geriatric patients with conditions such as COPD, stroke, joint replacements, and post-surgical recovery.
- Perform transfer training, gait training, discharge planning, and therapeutic exercises.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and maintain thorough documentation using EPIC EMR.
- Operate unit-specific equipment like Hoyer lifts, Bio Step, and parallel bars.
- Ensure patient safety and deliver compassionate care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associates degree or higher
- Valid State PTA license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care, SNF, LTC, or rehab
- Proficient in clinical judgment, communication, and team collaboration
- First-time travelers accepted
- Comfortable with therapeutic techniques and documentation standards
Key Duties
- Manage an average caseload of 7-8 patients daily, primarily treating geriatric populations in a supportive hospital environment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and unit policies, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Schedule
No weekend, holiday, or on-call duties required.
