About the role
Pioneer Healthcare Services is seeking a travel Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Physical Therapy Assistant for a travel job in Lanham, Maryland. Start date: 12/01/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Shift: 8‑hour days, 5×8 per week (up to 40 hours). Employment type: Travel, full‑time, on‑site. Classification: Non‑Exempt; Position Type: Full Time; Setting: Skilled Nursing Facility – SNF.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing personalized treatment plans developed by physical therapists
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities to improve patient function and mobility
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising physical therapist
- Educate patients and families on exercise techniques and safety measures
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient sessions and progress
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
- Support discharge planning and facilitate continuity of care as needed
Qualifications
- Completion of accredited PTA program
- Completion of National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE)
- MD PTA licensure/certification
- First Aid Certifications (BLS) strongly recommended

Pay
$1,685 – $1,737.11 per week (based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week; tax‑free stipend amount to be determined)
Schedule
Day shift, 5×8 hours per week (up to 40 hours). Assignment length: 13 weeks.
