Travel Physical Therapist position available at a facility in Bronx, New York. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with physical impairments.
  • Develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy.
  • Operate specialized equipment safely and monitor patient progress.
  • Adjust treatments as needed and collaborate with healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, injury prevention, and self-management.
  • Maintain a safe environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Participate in quality assurance and professional development activities.
  • Assist in discharge planning and perform additional duties within the scope of practice.
  • Assess patients' physical conditions and functional limitations.
  • Create and implement individualized rehabilitation programs.
  • Use various techniques and modalities to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
  • Coordinate with healthcare team members for optimal care.
  • Educate patients on exercises, safety, and injury prevention.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory compliance during therapy sessions.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth and quality initiatives.
  • Support discharge planning and community reintegration.

Requirements

  • Valid Physical Therapy license per state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
  • Strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in English, PC skills, and comprehension of instructions.
  • Physical ability to move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
