Role Overview

A Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. They develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, utilize manual therapy and specialized equipment, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care. The role involves educating patients and caregivers on self-management, maintaining safety standards, and participating in quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions through examinations and history
• Create and implement individualized rehabilitation programs
• Operate therapy equipment safely and effectively
• Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal results
• Educate patients on exercises, body mechanics, and injury prevention
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Engage in professional development and discharge planning

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid Physical Therapy license per state regulations
• Current BLS certification
• Strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and move equipment
• Effective interpersonal and motor skills
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
