Role Overview
A Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. They develop personalized, evidence-based treatment plans, utilize manual therapy and specialized equipment, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care. The role involves educating patients and caregivers on self-management, maintaining safety standards, and participating in quality improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions through examinations and history
- Create and implement individualized rehabilitation programs
- Operate therapy equipment safely and effectively
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and document outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal results
- Educate patients on exercises, body mechanics, and injury prevention
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
- Engage in professional development and discharge planning
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Physical Therapy license per state regulations
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks and move equipment
- Effective interpersonal and motor skills
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail
