About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide quality care within an acute inpatient and outpatient setting. The successful candidate will evaluate and treat a diverse patient population, including those with orthopedic, neurological, and debility diagnoses.
The therapist will treat an average of 7 patients per day with conditions primarily related to:
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) care
- Wound care
- Orthopedic injuries
- Neurological conditions
- Debility
- Acute inpatient and acute rehabilitation cases
Utilize a combination of inpatient (80%) and outpatient (20%) treatment depending on patient census and preferences.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care according to established physical therapy protocols.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and goals.
- Conduct risk assessments, patient evaluations, and maintain accurate patient records.
- Collaborate with nursing and therapy staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- May be required to precept or mentor students and new staff as necessary.
Requirements
- Current Texas Physical Therapy License and national certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Preferred experience in wound care; however, it is not required.
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings is highly valued.
Department Information
The unit is supported by a collaborative team, including 2-3 Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and a therapy technician. This environment encourages continuous learning, with opportunities to manage various general PT cases. Specialized cases will be referred to a sister facility for further management.
Schedule
Standard shifts are Monday to Friday, with no weekend requirements. Holiday rotations may be needed and will be discussed during the interview process.
