About the role

The organization is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist (PT) specializing in inpatient care at a 426-bed, Magnet-accredited acute care hospital in Orange, California. The position involves providing rehabilitative services within a stroke-certified center and orthopedic cases, with no wound care required. The role requires a commitment to 10-hour daytime shifts, a minimum of 40 hours per week, and the ability to start on 08/25/2026 for a 13-week assignment.

The physical therapy department has a daily census of approximately 110 patients, with therapists handling about 10 visits per day. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, respiratory services, and radiology. Float within facilities in the state may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative services in an inpatient setting, focusing on stroke rehabilitation and orthopedic cases.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 10 patients per day.
• Perform charting in the Epic system.
• Work a minimum of 2 weekends per month and 3 of the 5 designated holidays.
• Comply with all background checks, license verification, and obtain an LA fire card within the last 30 days.

Requirements

• California PT license in hand.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with acute care, orthopedic cases, and stroke rehabilitation in a community hospital setting (preferred).
• Experience with Epic charting system.
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years.
• RTO (Ready-to-Work) documentation must be included at time of submission.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) and trauma level settings.

Pay

Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
