Travel Physical Therapist General Job

Travel Physical Therapist assignment in Gainesville, VA – 13-week contract starting 08/23/2026.

About the role

This temporary travel assignment is in a long-term care / nursing home setting. You will work 32 guaranteed hours per week on an 8-hour day shift (typically 5 days per week).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of residents’ physical therapy needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence
• Administer therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities; apply appropriate modalities
• Reassess progress, document outcomes in resident records, and communicate with an interdisciplinary care team
• Facilitate discharge planning and caregiver education; promote safety and independence
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation standards

Requirements

• Active Physical Therapist license in the United States or eligibility for Virginia licensure
• Availability to work 32 guaranteed hours per week, typically 5 days per week
• Ability to work in a long-term care/geriatric setting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; effective collaboration with the care team
• Ability to document patient progress accurately and follow facility policies

Pay

Weekly pay range: $1,297–$1,363.
