About the role

This role involves providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist within a skilled nursing facility. The position requires delivering patient-centered care, following established care plans, and utilizing various therapeutic techniques to promote patient recovery and well-being in a clinical treatment and rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by a physician and after initial and periodic evaluation by a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Treat patients within the plan of care to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity.
  • Direct and aid patients in active and passive exercises, mobility training, activities of daily living, and prosthetic training.
  • Utilize equipment such as ultraviolet and infrared lamps, low voltage generators, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines.
  • Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes.
  • Teach self-care techniques to patients and caregivers.
  • Arrange equipment use and complete timely clinical notes.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
  • Licensed in Vermont or New Hampshire.
  • Valid driver’s license and agency-level auto insurance.

Schedule

  • Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum 32 hours per week.
  • 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation).
