Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Internal Traveler

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of patient care records.
  • Correctly report billing information for all patients on the personal case load.
  • Provide direct patient care as prescribed, including evaluation and treatment planning.
  • Assist and assess transfers, gait, and balance as required based on the patient's functional mobility.
  • Report and interpret treatment results.
  • Participate in the development and presentation of in-services for the facility as requested.
  • Serve as a supervisor for support personnel in immediate work areas as appropriate.
  • Perform clinical functions such as screening, evaluations, development of treatment plans, and delivery of treatment in accordance with facility, state, Medicare, and TMC’s policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings regarding patient care as appropriate.
  • Assist with community education and public relations activities as needed.
  • Provide education to patient’s family and staff on the specific treatment plan and therapy goals for the patient.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other staff members in carrying out the treatment plan as established.
  • Function according to the APTA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the profession.
  • Maintain records required by practice setting, third-party payers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Contribute to program planning and development.
  • Terminate services formulating discontinuation and follow-up plans when maximum benefit is received.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited therapy program.
  • Hold a valid state license as a:
    • Physical Therapist
    • Occupational Therapist
    • Speech Language Pathologist
    • Occupational Therapy Assistant
    • Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Able to perform proper body mechanics without posing a risk of injury to self or others.
  • Able to lift and control 50+ pounds.
