Key Responsibilities
- Implementing Treatment Plans
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities
- Aid in patient recovery using physical therapy equipment
- Guide patients through prescribed exercises
- Monitor patient responses to physical therapy treatments
- Track and document changes in patient condition
- Provide feedback on patient performance
- Educate patients on proper body mechanics and techniques
- Teach patients exercises, stretches, and home care strategies
- Explain the purpose and benefits of physical therapy treatments
- Instruct patients on how to use assistive devices
- Offer emotional support to patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of each patient’s progress
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure coordinated care
- Communicate effectively with other team members
- Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of physical therapy equipment
- Ensure therapy areas are tidy and organized
- Adhere to infection control standards and ensure patient safety
- Assist in evaluations and initial assessments
- Monitor patients for signs of fatigue, discomfort, or injury
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
- At least one year of relevant work experience in physical therapy
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and modalities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
