Travel Physical Therapist - $2,370 per week
About the Role
Travel Physical Therapist position available in Portland, Oregon. This is an Inpatient (PT IP) role in a short-term acute care facility, primarily on medical-surgical units with float coverage to ICU, ED, and ASU as needed. The therapist may be the sole provider on shift at times, requiring candidates comfortable working independently.
The schedule features day shifts of 10 hours per day, totaling a minimum of 40 hours per week. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026 and ends on 12/14/2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient physical therapy services on medical-surgical units, with float coverage to ICU, ED, and ASU
- Manage a daily census of approximately 30 patients, performing 8 visits per day
- Work with diverse patient diagnoses such as post-falls, failure to thrive, and post-total joint replacements
- Work independently during shifts where the therapist is the only provider
- Work at least 2 weekend days per pay period and 3 of the 5 specified holidays
- Use assistive devices such as front-wheeled walkers, crutches, ceiling lifts, and Hoyer lifts
Requirements
- Valid state license (compact license preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience in inpatient or acute care settings
- Certifications in ACLS and BLS
- Oregon License
- Flexibility to float between units including ICU, ED, and ASU
- Willingness to submit RTO requests upfront
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with acute care and adaptive devices
- Familiarity with Epic charting system
- Experience working independently during shifts
