Travel Physical Therapist - $2,326 per week

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience to provide inpatient and outpatient care in a rural Hawaii hospital setting.

About the role

• 13-week travel assignment in Waimea, Hawaii
• Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, including a 12-1 PM lunch break
• Must be able to work Saturdays with no exceptions
• Work schedule may require flexibility in hours
• Inpatient caseload (25%) includes acute care, ICU, and SNF settings
• Outpatient caseload (75%) is provided in a hospital-based outpatient PT clinic
• May also work in ER, Med/Surg (acute, observation, and SNF), and occasionally OB
• Typical daily caseload is 5-15 patients, with appointments scheduled every 30-45 minutes and new evaluations at one hour
• 12 hours of orientation provided, covering HR, safety, risk & quality management, IT training, and EMR training
• Orientation is structured over two days, with the first day beginning at 10 AM

Responsibilities

• Perform PT evaluations and treatments across a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings
• Demonstrate strong clinical independence in a rural hospital setting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience
• Current BLS certification
• Active state PT license; Hawaii license required if applicable
• Independence and thorough care approaches across all outpatient diagnoses
• Knowledge of acute to SNF inpatient mobility progression and discharge planning

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts
• Start date: September 28, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
