Responsibilities
- Travel between the Monroe and Allen Park clinic to perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients.
- Place intravenous (IV) catheters.
- Label and prepare blood and toxicology specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols.
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate records of procedures performed.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the blood/tox collection process.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sterile work environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate specimen collection and processing.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program AND at least 2 years of work experience in blood drawing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic laboratory procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, experience with Practice Fusion is a plus.
