Travel Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer - $3,668 per week

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer for a 13‑week travel assignment in Fairfax, Virginia, starting October 26, 2026. The position requires at least 1 year of pediatric sonography experience and ARDMS certification.

• Covers NICU, PICU, and Cardiac ICU units
• Performs echocardiographic studies across fetal congenital (22+ weeks), pediatric heart disease, and adult congenital echocardiography
• 4 scanners available; uses Philips equipment with Epic EMR and PACS Fuji CV Synapse
• Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend, on‑call, or holiday requirements
• Occasional floating to Inova Fairfax Hospital campus
• 1–2 week orientation provided
• Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate with a 50‑mile radius rule
• Former permanent employees may return 12 months after their last shift worked

Responsibilities

• Recognize and triage emergent situations
• Provide written communication to cardiologists
• Maintain equipment and handle logging and billing of procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in pediatric sonography
• Extensive understanding of congenital and unusual forms of non‑congenital heart disease
• BLS and ARDMS certification required
• Registry in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred
• Fetal echo experience encouraged
• Adult echo experience a plus
• Epic experience required
• License required if applicable

Schedule

• Days, 5 × 8‑hour shifts (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• 40 hours per week
• No weekends, on‑call, or holidays
• 13‑week assignment starting October 26, 2026
