About the role

A Pediatric Medical Floor RN (Registered Nurse) position is available in Colorado Springs. This assignment involves working on a pediatrics surgical unit with a focus on patient care for children requiring medical and surgical treatment. The role requires flexibility, fast-paced responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple patient needs effectively.

Fast turnover is expected with ability to admit 12-15 patients per shift, demonstrating quick and efficient patient care. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork, with Resource RN and Charge RN available for assistance. Float rotation may be required across PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), ED (Emergency Department), and other units to support staffing.

Availability for 2 out of 3 specified holidays is required, with blackout dates from 11/25-11/27 and 12/23-12/26. The clinician must perform four weekend shifts within four weeks.

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Minimum 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for children requiring medical and surgical treatment
• Admit 12-15 patients per shift with quick and efficient turnover
• Float across PICU, NICU, ED, and other units as needed
• Work 2 of 3 specified holidays and four weekend shifts within four weeks

Requirements

• BSN preferred
• Two years of pediatric medical-surgical experience required
• Recent EPIC electronic health record system experience within the last year
• RN licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Team-oriented attitude, dependable, flexible, and strong communication skills
