TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics ER - Emergency Room for a travel nursing job in Palo Alto, California. We're looking for Pediatric Emergency Room RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Palo Alto, CA. The right RN will have at least 1-2 years of recent acute care experience. Job ID #1521241.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions
• Care for pediatric patients in a fast‑paced, urgent, and emergency environment
• Perform minor medical operations
• Advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries
• Plan long‑term care needs
• Document medical history
• Check for patient allergies
• Obtain vital signs
• Monitor patients' emotional and physical well‑being
• Provide basic bedside care to pediatric patients
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality in nurse/child relationships
• Participate in activities to manage a child's pain
• Evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse
• Serve as a child advocate
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Move or lift patients, requiring up to 50 pounds of lifting at a time
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment
• Relate to people of all ages and backgrounds, especially adolescents

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• TNCC certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (1‑2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
