About the Role
A Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical units.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data.
- Administer medications and treatments, assist during cardiac procedures.
- Assess patient conditions, respond to emergencies, and document findings.
- Educate patients on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
- Maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Valid RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
- Critical thinking, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, work effectively with diverse teams, and handle stressful situations.
- Proficiency in reading instructions, documentation, and PC skills.
- Visual acuity and physical ability to assist with procedures and equipment.
