About the role

Travel nursing position in Lafayette, Indiana for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role serves as Charge Nurse on a Cardiac and Medical PCU/True ICU Stepdown unit with 4x12-hour night shifts (18:00–06:30) in a 194-bed short-term acute care facility. Charge pay provided and on-the-job training available for qualified candidates. Free on-site parking.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Charge Nurse on a Cardiac and Medical PCU/True ICU Stepdown unit
• Manage and administer cardiac and vasoactive drips including Levophed, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
• Monitor and care for patients requiring BiPAP and High Flow Oxygen therapy
• Perform IV starts and provide telemetry monitoring for step-down level patients
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospital locations as required
• Work a minimum of 2 out of 3 major holidays per contract requirements

Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license in hand prior to start (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Telemetry, IV Start, Cardiac and Vasoactive drip experience required
• Charge Nurse experience required
• Trauma Level I, II, III, or IV experience required

Preferred Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• Conscious sedation experience preferred
