Travel PCU RN - $2,298 per week

About the role

Work in a progressive care unit at a hospital serving a vibrant community in northeastern North Carolina. You will care for patients whose conditions are more complex than those on a medical-surgical floor but not critical enough for intensive care. The facility offers advanced technology and a collaborative, patient-centered culture, supporting recovery from cardiac events, respiratory failure, and post-surgical complications. Roanoke Rapids is known for its welcoming atmosphere and access to outdoor recreation.

Responsibilities

• Provide progressive care nursing in a PCU setting
• Monitor cardiac function and titrate medications as needed
• Manage patients with conditions such as cardiac events, respiratory failure, and post-surgical complications
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care

Required qualifications

• Active registered nurse (RN) license (Compact accepted)
• 2 years of PCU or step-down experience
• Certifications: BLS-AHA, ACLS-AHA, NIH Stroke Scale
• IV Insertion proficiency
• Must live outside 80-mile radius

Preferred qualifications

• Travel experience
• EPIC EMR experience

Pay

Pay rate: $2240.00 – $2355.00 per week, based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (tax-free stipend amount to be determined).

Schedule

12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week. Duration: 13 weeks. Start date: September 21, 2026.
