Travel PCU RN - $2,268 per week

About the role

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Farmington, New Mexico. The assignment starts 10/19/2026, lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The role involves caring for patients who need close monitoring but do not require ICU level care, including medication administration, equipment monitoring, and bedside procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (PCU/step‑down preferred).
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Capable of lifting 20 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients.
• Good stress‑coping skills.
• Ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.
