Thrive Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Salem, Virginia.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: PCU - Progressive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: ASAPDuration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelRegistered Nurse (RN) Unit Information Location: Salem, VA Unit: East Progressive Unit Number of Beds: 15 Number of Staff: 22 (RN/PCT) Day Shift Staffing: 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 Clinical Coordinator Night Shift Staffing: 3-4 RNs, 1 PCT Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per nurse Type of Equipment: Cardiac Telemetry, Chest tubes, Cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone), Post-catheterization patients, post-surgical patients (open heart, lung surgery, general surgery, orthopedic surgery) Electronic Medical Record: Meditech Typical Hiring Profile Required Skills: PCU experience Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients Chest tube management and epidural management Preferred Skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong time management skills, particularly in high turnover situations Typical Procedures Post-cardiac catheterization, electrophysiological studies, device placements Groin management Chest tube management Post-operative care for surgical patients Management of critical drips, epidurals, and PCA Personality Fit The ideal candidate is outgoing, team-oriented, and demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond for patient care. Required Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Floating Areas ICU taking PCU-type patients PCU Med-surg (5 patients) Dress Code Scrub Color: Navy or white, with the option to mix and match.
