About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract position in the Step-Down/Telemetry unit at a facility in Asheville, North Carolina. This role focuses on clinical decision-making and direct admissions from the Emergency Department (ED) while ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday shifts required
- No on-call duty expected
Responsibilities
- Receive admitted patients from the ED and perform admission assessments
- Conduct medication reconciliation and initiate acute care orders
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient throughput and experience
- Float to other units as needed within the scope of practice
- Ensure adherence to patient safety and care guidelines
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) units
- Active RN license
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Charge Nurse experience or willingness to consider is appreciated
