About the role

This travel nursing position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. The assignment is for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.

Unit Description

• 3S Comp-Med Stepdown is a 29-bed medical stepdown unit specializing in patients diagnosed with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses.
• The unit offers general medical services to all types of patients requiring cardiac monitoring, including cardiology, renal, endocrinology, general medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
• Staff receive special training in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, and A-PAP).
• Nurses provide infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care.
• Patient care assistants on the unit provide support with ADLs, POC glucose testing, and 12 Lead EKGs.
• 3 South is a dedicated stroke unit and all RNs are NIH stroke scale certified.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, PCU
• 2 years of experience
• Licenses: RN (Compact Accepted) – copy needed
• Certifications: BLS-AHA (copy needed); ACLS-AHA (copy needed)
• SSN required
• DOB required
• References: 1 reference in entire work history

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN
• NIHSS preferred

Pay

Pay rate: $1,737.00 – $1,826.00 per week, based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (tax-free stipend amount to be determined).
