Schedule
This is a 12-hour night shift position. Nurses will typically work every other weekend, with scheduling adjusted to meet unit needs.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role involves providing high-quality patient care to adults with acute and complex health issues requiring close monitoring and support. Nurses will be part of a resource float team, facilitating seamless patient care across appropriate units as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, with a focus on cardiac and respiratory needs.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in maintaining telemetry and managing cardiac drips.
- Perform procedures such as starting IVs and monitoring patients post-cardiac catheterization.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a progressive care or telemetry unit.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to starting.
- Experience with the EPIC documentation system within the past 2 years is essential.
- Must be willing to float to appropriate units as needed.
