Travel nurse RN PACU position in Santa Maria, California. Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care. Discipline: RN. Start date: 10/26/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Schedule: 40 hours per week, 10‑hour day shifts. Employment type: Travel. The role involves providing observation and care for post‑operative patients recovering from surgical anesthesia, monitoring for adverse reactions, and determining readiness for transfer to a room.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of patients from pediatrics to adults.
• Develop individualized care plans based on each patient's condition.
• Monitor critical patients for condition changes and report to the physician.
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready to move to a room.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience (minimum 2 years preferred).

Pay

Pay package is based on 10‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
