About the Role

Travel nursing position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a Level III Trauma OR in Salem, Massachusetts. This is a complex community setting with a 13-week assignment, requiring 36 hours per week on 12-hour evening shifts. The role involves rotating schedules, including weekends and evenings, with on-call requirements.

Schedule

  • 13-week assignment.
  • 36 hours per week (options for 40 hours).
  • Shift options: 4x10's, 2x10's, or 2x8's.
  • Primarily evening shifts: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM, 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM, and 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
  • 1-2 weekend rotations per 4-week schedule.
  • 1-2 evening rotations (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM) per 4-week schedule.
  • On-call requirements: 1 holiday call, 2-3 weekday calls, and 1-2 weekend calls per 4-week schedule.
  • Weekend shifts may include on-call duties (e.g., working Saturday 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM with on-call from 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Provide post-anesthesia care in a Level III Trauma OR setting.
  • Circulate independently in the operating room.
  • Manage a 1:1 clinician-to-patient ratio.
  • Care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
  • Utilize aseptic technique and demonstrate multispecialty competence.
  • Operate Mako and Davinci systems.
  • Chart using EPIC EMR system.
  • Adhere to rotating shift requirements, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Active Massachusetts RN License.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in one location.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a travel nurse.
  • BSN and CNOR preferred.
  • Scrub experience preferred.

Unit Details

  • Unit Name: Operating Room.
  • Brief Description: Level III Trauma OR in a complex community setting.
  • Bed Count: 15.
  • Census: Approximately 30-40 patients per day.
  • Floating Required: No.
  • EMR System: EPIC.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
