Travel PACU Registered Nurse - $2,455 per week

Job Summary

A Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing position is available in Artesia, New Mexico. This role involves providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia, with responsibilities including monitoring patient vital signs, interpreting telemetric strips, and ensuring safe recovery progression. The position requires collaboration with anesthesia and ancillary staff to support high-quality postoperative care.

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
• Scheduled call once a week
• One weekend call per month
• Flexible start time between 0800-0900 hours
• Desired start date: 07/27/2026

Required Qualifications

• Valid licensure to submit
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• At least 2 years of clinical experience
• Orthopedic experience required
• Experience in Endoscopy preferred
• Proficiency with EMR system CPSI

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telemetric strip interpretation

Additional Information

• The facility has a department with 4 Preoperative and 6 Post Anesthesia Care Unit beds
• The clinician must complete required modules prior to the start, with an approximate 20-hour completion time
• The facility permits billing for module work up to 6 hours
• Nurse aides are available in PACU, and anesthesia oversees RT equipment
• No ICU recovery occurs in the PACU
• The position involves working with a charge nurse who may have a patient assignment, and there is a unit-specific orientation lasting one week with a preceptor

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
