Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Summary

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia. This position is based in a healthcare facility located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The PACU Nurse will perform pre- and post-operative assessments, monitor patient recovery, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient recovery from anesthesia
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Shift & Schedule Details

• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, with scheduled start times between 0600 and 0800 depending on departmental needs
• Call responsibilities based on department requirements, typically 1-2 shifts per week during weekdays
• Every third weekend (ending at 0630 on Monday morning)
• Rotating holidays with staff

Required Qualifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Ability to work day shifts
• Flexibility to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in pre/post anesthesia care, operating rooms, gastrointestinal (GI), interventional radiology (IR), and post-anesthesia care (PACU)
• Travel experience
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
