About the role

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) registered nurse position is located in Great Falls, Montana. This role involves providing skilled, compassionate care to patients before and after surgical, procedural, and interventional cases. The nurse will be responsible for comprehensive assessments, close patient monitoring, and managing recovery phases with an emphasis on patient safety and interdisciplinary communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Monitor patients closely during recovery phases
• Manage procedural assessments, medication and infusion administration, and blood transfusions
• Maintain clinical safety standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Utilize specialized equipment such as ECG machines, point-of-care devices, and emergency equipment
• Provide patient education and follow-up to ensure optimal recovery outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotation, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Valid nursing license
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Relevant clinical experience in post-anesthesia or recovery nursing
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and vascular access procedures

Schedule

Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
