Job Summary

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. The role involves coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the post-anesthesia recovery process, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The position requires providing care within a fast-paced surgical environment.

Schedule

• Days shift, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
• Minimum of 40 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 09/14/2026
• Assignment ending on December 12, 2026
• Floating within surgical services required
• Must be able to work rotating shifts including weekends and one night call per week
• EMR documentation using EPIC
• Professional dress code: graphite gray scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) license or current Compact state RN license
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) via American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) via AHA
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) via AHA
• Applicable licensure and educational credentials

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or related surgical recovery areas is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Obtain initial patient assessments
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care
• Perform point-of-care testing
• Reassess patient status
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning
