About the role
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for an outpatient position in Taos, NM, requiring at least 1 year of outpatient experience with a NM state license required before start.
Responsibilities
- Evaluating and treating patients via physician referral or direct access
- Establishing and supervising PT assistants under a plan of care
- Performing WorkSTEPS, APET, Work Hardening Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, ergonomic evaluations, and job analyses
- Supervising PT technicians
- Maintaining communication with referring physicians, rehab nurses, and case managers through timely progress notes
- Answering phones, scheduling patient visits, and taking referrals as needed
- Familiarity with billing codes across various payer types
- Occasional participation in business development activities, community events, and relationship-building with referral sources when patient load allows
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Active New Mexico PT license required before start date
- BLS certification required if applicable
- NM state license required if applicable
Qualifications

- Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of physical therapy techniques

- Proficiency in computer software for scheduling and documentation
Benefits
Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
