About the role
The Outpatient Physical Therapist will evaluate all assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans in accordance with the patients’ needs, goals, and physician direction. The therapist is responsible for delegating and directing all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that allow for an effective return to community activities. This role also includes serving as an educator for patients, families, students, and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Document medical records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
- Ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders within insurance approval, as necessary.
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and colleagues.
- Create an individualized professional development plan and pursue professional growth through continuing education.
- Adhere to state practice acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.
- Participate in student programs providing positive learning environments.
- Participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
- CPR certification.
- Active and applicable state licensure for practicing physical therapy.
