About the opportunity

DT-Trak Consulting, Inc. — a Native American-owned, ISBEE-certified federal healthcare staffing firm — holds an active federal contract with the Bemidji Area Indian Health Service (IHS) to provide Medical Technologist (MT) and Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) services at the Red Lake Service Unit in Red Lake, Minnesota.

This is an exceptional opportunity to deliver critical laboratory services in a meaningful federal tribal health setting, serving the Red Lake Band of Ojibwe community — with a strong compensation package, generous per diem, and travel support.

Contract Period: ASAP – March 31, 2027

Location: Red Lake Indian Health Service | 24760 Hospital Drive, Red Lake, MN 56671

Scope of Work

  • Perform specimen collection, processing, testing, and reporting for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • C Conduct routine and specialized testing across microbiology, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and serology
  • Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform instrument calibration
  • Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, IHS laboratory policies, and blood-borne pathogen procedures
  • Report critical values to clinical staff within required timeframes
  • Participate in the facility's continuous quality improvement and quality assurance programs
  • Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts; overtime and on-call as needed

Required Qualifications

  • MT: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; ASCP MT(ASCP) or equivalent certification required
  • MLT: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; ASCP MLT(ASCP) or equivalent certification required
  • Valid ASCP certification in good standing — mandatory, no exceptions
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, current
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience (phlebotomy, specimen processing, analysis)
  • Must pass federal background investigation including FBI fingerprint check
  • U.S. citizenship or authorized to work in the United States
