Travel Orthopedic Surgery RN - $1,949 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Orthopedics for a travel nursing job in Asheville, North Carolina. Specialty: Orthopedics; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks; Shift: 12 hours, days; Employment Type: Travel. We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Asheville, NC. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• NIH certification
• Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience (1-2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
