About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide care in a 29-bed unit specializing in adult to geriatric orthopedic patients, along with medical-surgical patients. The role includes monitoring telemetry, coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams, and working in both high-volume and moderate-volume patient settings. Charge RN experience is required, as RNs will work in charge roles as needed. The unit offers a physical therapy gym for patient rehabilitation and can accommodate ED patients with varying acuity.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the orthopedic and medical-surgical settings.
• Manage and oversee patient care as a Charge RN, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including blood product administration and central line blood draws.
• Assist with physical therapy without patients leaving the unit.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Charge RN experience is mandatory.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous travel experience required.
• EPIC charting system experience is a must.
• Must have an active RN license upon submission.

Schedule

This position requires a Day 3x12 schedule, working from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM. RNs will be scheduled every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Shift: 12 hours, days.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Contract and local rates may vary based on location and applicant residency.
