About the role

The Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician specializing in Operating Room (ORT) is based in the healthcare facility. This role involves delivering care to surgical patients, supporting the efficient operation of the Surgery Department, and instructing medical staff and students. The position also includes responsibilities related to sterilization and proper handling of surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
• Maintain sterile technique during procedures
• Assist during surgeries and support the surgical team
• Assist with surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile environments
• Organize supplies
• Ensure proper sterilization of equipment
• Participate in ongoing training and departmental meetings

Requirements

• Successful graduation from a Surgical Technologist training program or minimum one year of experience in operating room scrub nursing
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Knowledge of medical asepsis and instrument handling
• Ability to work with tedious tasks and tolerate blood/body tissue sight and exposure
• Willingness to work different shifts, take call, and work weekends
• Demonstrated competency with surgical instruments and sterilization protocols
• Adherence to safety guidelines

Schedule

Day shift, 8 hours per day, minimum 40 hours per week.

Pay

Pay package based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
