A Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) position is available in the Aspirus Wausau Hospital area. This role involves supporting obstetric procedures, specifically C-section cases, and assisting with various responsibilities in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit. The position is scheduled for night shifts, with a contract length of 13 weeks and the potential for travel opportunities.
No float rotation required. The technician will be involved in assisting with case types limited to C-section, both planned and emergent, with an average of 3-4 cases daily. The role requires resilience, a strong work ethic, and adaptability to change.
Requirements
- BLS certification
- CST license required (NBSTSA or NCCT accepted)
- Graduation from a surgical technologist program
- Minimum of 1 year experience in an obstetric (OB) setting; first-time travelers with 2 years of experience are also considered
Schedule
Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, totaling a minimum of 36 hours per week. Contract duration: 13 weeks. Start date: 11/16/2026. Employment type: Travel.
Responsibilities
- Support C-section procedures
- Assist with labor and delivery tasks
- Perform C.N.A. duties such as vital signs, ambulation, stocking, and baby baths
- Assist with circumcision procedures
- Help with transport from rooms to the operating room
- Utilize Jada system for hemorrhage management
