Job Details

The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs the role of Circulating Nurse while functioning as a patient advocate for the anesthetized patient.

Responsibilities

Provides safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting their physiologic and functional needs.

Interacts with pre-natal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations on an interdisciplinary level.

Must be able to effectively interact appropriate to individual's intellectual level and physical ability.

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years Operating Room experience required.
• Schedule Information: 40 hours per week - mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts. Call required approximately three weeknights a month from 5pm to 7am. Call required one weekend day a month (Saturday or Sunday) from 7am to 7am.
• Unit Specific Information: Role includes functioning as Circulating Nurse.

Qualifications

• Submit a color photo taken in past 6 months with specific guidelines (no selfies, no filters, no scrub caps/headwear, plain background).
• Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation required if fit test is required.
• MGB Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam with 80% passing required.
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity required.
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date required, updated if >6 month break.
• Health Statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date required.
• MGB Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start date required.
• MGB Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date required.
• MGB Resume including past 7 years of work experience required for submission.
• Two references within 4 years required, minimum one supervisor or above in skillset.
• MGB Skills Checklist must be completed within 1 year of submission.
• MGB Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
• MGB Education Verification required through background check company.
• MGB SSN Trace must be run with criminal check.
• MGB National Sex Offender Check run within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• MGB Exclusion Checks run within 30 days of start and annually.
• MGB Candidate Submission Coversheet required for submission to initial assignment and new facility.
• MGB Beeline Attestation completed by all new applicants.
