Required Experience, Certifications, and Skills

• Role: RN (Registered Nurse)
• Specialty: Ambulatory Surgery
• Critical Care Experience, Pre-op & PACU experience
• Required Certifications: Missouri Licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Years of Experience: 2+ years
• Must Have Skills/Experience:
• Involves patient and/or significant others in decisions regarding care.
• Affirms and documents educational needs and learning abilities of the patient and/or significant others during admission and subsequent assessments.
• Documents plan of care including identified problems, nursing diagnosis, nursing interventions, and goals/outcomes with target dates.
• Performs patient hand-offs using patient safety tools (SBAR, Report at Bedside, etc.).
• Maintains effective communication through the chain of command.
• Communicates subjective and objective data about the patient/family and/or significant others with appropriate team members.
• Stays updated on unit communications, such as huddles and emails.
• Facilitates communication of pertinent findings with and/or makes rounds with physicians.
• Participates in Process Improvement activities such as data collection, in-services, and meetings as needed.
