Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure efficient and safe operating room operations.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, including sterilizing instruments and ensuring proper equipment functionality.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and surgical progress, responding swiftly to changes in patient condition.
- Assist with positioning patients and applying sterile techniques throughout the surgical procedure.
- Document nursing care, surgical events, and patient information accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and hospital policies to maintain a safe surgical environment.
Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state(s) of assignment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room nursing or perioperative nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different healthcare facility settings.
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and operating room protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with diverse surgical teams.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to various locations across the United States for assignments.
